A Saturday in the Life
“This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.”
It's been said many times but now that I have a child of my own I can finally agree -- baby changes everything! What's one way life changed in the 15 months since Arya came along? Saturday. After a baby, the glory of a Saturday sleep-in is a thing of the past! The weekends make me SO aware of how differently I spend my time now. These days, a Saturday morning starts like you'll see in the pictures below: Arya summoning one of us into her room for a morning sing-song, snuggle and a diaper change, followed by an obstacle course of getting her dressed (while she does almost everything except actually get dressed). So after many a Saturday morning spent running behind a toddler, I've learned to keep it simple with easy baby soft layers...and for all you mamas who feel my Saturday morning pain, check below for a fantastic coupon for some of my favorite things at Carter's!
Now that Arya is on the move, we go about getting dressed in layers. First up is something comfy and easy like the pink "Hi" bodysuit she's wearing. She can play, eat breakfast, and watch Moana as barefoot and as comfortable as she pleases. Spills? No sweat -- I've got a million of these bodysuits and they all match everything lol As you've seen me share quite a few times before, we get almost all of our basics from the Carter's Little Baby Basics collection! At every growth stage, I find myself cycling in new sizes of the original bodysuit 5-packs, the cotton pant 2-packs, and a few of the easy outfit sets.
I let Arya run around all morning in her bodysuit but then when we're ready to run out the door I just throw some matching pants, shortalls, or a 2-piece set on top! I used to overthink her outfits, just because I was so excited to dress her up -- that was before I fully settled into #momlife and a budget. Little Baby Basics is by far my favorite go-to at Carter's because each season we can snag the usual suspects, but also a few cute seasonal things too. We got these shortalls in a couple of colors, and I can see them taking us from playground to park to zoo all summer! So moral of the story? Babies change the way you spend your Saturday, but in our house we do everything we can to replace stressful moments with fun ones (double points if an afternoon at the park leads to an afternoon of naps!).
