Tone Up Tuesday: High Plank Series
I'm going to be brutally honest on this fine Tone Up Tuesday morning; the high plank series is quite possibly my LEAST favorite pilates fix workout! With that being said though, I've learned that we don't always like the things that are good for us, and so I power through them anyway. My distaste comes from the obvious fact that it's hard (especially with my weaker "post-baby" core) but I find that I can't quite get into planks because I really struggle with my form. No matter what I do, at some point I just KNOW that my form is incorrect and so it takes a bit more concentration than normal. My biggest tip to combat this is to take a few moments to correct your form in the mirror -- then take a mental snapshot of what "correct" feels like and operate from that place every time. I have to tell myself to drop my shoulders almost every time, but I can also see an improvement in my core afterwards as proof that this plank series is working. Give the series below a try, and let me know what you think!
