21 Day Fix: Round 1 Results
I have been waiting to share my 21 Day Fix (round 1) results for a few days, mainly because I've been too excited to actually sit down and reflect! When I first began this health and fitness journey I was skeptical that it would even work for me, so to physically see (and feel) progress is more than a reason to say that it did. Aside from the overall lifestyle change that's happened, for the first time in the 4 months since having a baby, I feel like a human again! And it's not because I'm spending any less of my time breastfeeding round the clock, or worrying about how to juggle my new life as a mommy. No, I feel like a human again because the 21 Day Fix program reminded me how important it is to take the time to focus on myself and it gave me all the tools I needed to be successful. In the beginning, I had every reason at the ready for why I didn't have time, why Shakeology wouldn't work for me, why meal prep was going to take too long, etc. Now as I look back, I'm so mad at myself that I didn't find this sooner!
Was it hard? Absolutely. Did I feel like quitting? All the time -- especially about 16 minutes into each 30 minute workout! But I didn't allow me to give up on me, and even thought the workouts don't get easier, I get stronger and that is worth celebrating! The support I received along the way is invaluable. Becoming a health a fitness coach is something I never saw the old me doing, but the new me has discovered something to be passionate about. So much so that I'm leading a group of women this month on their own fitness challenges and I'm confident that they're going to find what I found, if not more. Interested? Skeptical? Need support? Just have questions? Check out my progress, and feel free to reach out to me via the challenge group application below!
In just 21 days I went from being a lethargic, emotional eating, full of excuses type of procrastinator to being energetic, motivated to win each day, excited about getting my workouts in and overall becoming the strongest that I've been in YEARS. What did I do? I worked out for 30 minutes everyday, focused on portion control + nutrition everyday, and drank Shakeology once a day everyday. That's it! I haven't been able to do a real (un-modified) push up in a long while, and now I look forward to cranking them out with ease. I became a morning person, tackling workouts before the sun had even risen. I enjoyed the ease of meal prep, and how much more time I had to spend now that breakfast/lunch/dinner were handled. I didn't lose a single pound, but I lost the inches of my belly that resembled what I looked like at 4 months pregnant. I toned up my legs, lifted my butt and shaped my arms. Heck yes! I started to make time for me, and I made it a non-negotiable, no matter what time of the day (or late night) that it had to happen. I lost the excuses, gained some confidence and still can't believe that committing to this wholeheartedly brought me such an inner / outer transformation. A transformation that I know will stick. I've already started round 2 of 21 Day Fix, and I can't wait to see what happens as I journey further into creating a happier, healthier me!
